Ela consegue entrar na festa graças a um empregado e descobre que ali o pessoal realmente se diverte com danças, que Max Kellerman (Jack Weston), o dono do hotel, não permite. Baby chega a dançar com Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), um professor de dança, e logo fica apaixonada por ele. Quando Penny Johnson (Cynthia Rhodes), a parceira de dança de Johnny, fica grávida por ter se envolvido com Robbie Gould (Max Cantor), um dos garçons, Baby se oferece para aprender a dançar e substituir Penny, mas o pai de Baby, quando descobre, não gosta disto, pois considera que Johnny é de outra classe social e Baby é jovem demais para entender seus sentimentos.

Teddy era emocionalmente perturbado, pois o pai tinha acessos de loucura e se Gordie era o intelectual do grupo Vern era o mais infantil, mas foi ele quem veio com a notícia que iria modificar a vida dos quatro. Tentando achar um vidro cheio de moedas que tinha enterrado, Vern ouviu por acaso Billy Tessio (Casey Siemaszko) e Charlie Hogan (Gary Riley) falando onde estava o corpo de Ray Brower, um garoto da idade deles que tinha ido colher amoras há três dias e nunca mais tinha sido visto. Chris e Teddy queriam achar o corpo, pois vislumbravam a possibilidade de se tornarem heróis. Porém, às vésperas de uma apresentação de calouros, o baterista do grupo quebra o braço, o que faz com que, em cima da hora, um jovem infeliz (Tom Everett Scott) que trabalhava na loja de eletrodomésticos da família seja convidado para substituí-lo. Sinopse: Em 1963, Frances Houseman (Jennifer Grey), ou "Baby", como é chamada pela família, uma jovem de 17 anos, viajou com seus pais, Marjorie (Kelly Bishop) e Jake Houseman (Jerry Orbach) e sua irmã Lisa (Jane Brucker) para um resort em Catskills. Ao contrário de Lisa, que pensa em roupas, Frances é idealista e quer estar no próximo verão no Corpo da Paz estudando a economia dos países do Terceiro Mundo. Baby chega a dançar com Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), um professor de dança, e logo fica apaixonada por ele. Quando Penny Johnson (Cynthia Rhodes), a parceira de dança de Johnny, fica grávida por ter se envolvido com Robbie Gould (Max Cantor), um dos garçons, Baby se oferece para aprender a dançar e substituir Penny, mas o pai de Baby, quando descobre, não gosta disto, pois considera que Johnny é de outra classe social e Baby é jovem demais para entender seus sentimentos.

“Acho o filme dahora, mesmo sendo passado nos anos 60, o filme continua moderno pois ainda há esses acampamentos de verão, ou chácaras de parentes em que os filhos só vão por obrigação. Além de ser ótimo e ter a careta música “The Time of My Life” que marca a história do Cinema em relação a músicas românticas em filmes românticos, eu toco a música porque minha irmã recentemente adquiriu a trilha sonora e por causa da maratona de filmes românticos que esta tendo na TV, o clipe é da cena final em que toca a música e enfim os dois conseguem realizar a dança de forma completa”
